Dental Office Schedule Templates by Design
Dental office schedule templates are foundational for practice success and happiness. And the two are one and the same to me. Happiness is success.
I recommend schedule templates for both hygiene schedules and restorative. Or for specialty practices and purposes, let’s just say every schedule deserves a template by design.

Plan Your Next Year's Templates in September
September is the month I look ahead at the coming year. And decide what changes to make to the schedule templates for the new year. As the practice grows, the schedule must adapt as well.
Run procedure analysis reports by provider for the past 6 months. Consider how far out each provider is scheduling now. And also take a look at the short notice call lists. How long are patients waiting for treatment?
Dental Office Schedule Templates Include Time Off
Also consider holidays and days the office may close for vacations or team meetings and team trainings. As these times are best blocked in advance for production consideration.
Does the office close for a week or two each year for vacation? Or do team members request time off in advance? If so, be sure to get team member vacations on the calendar now too.
Yes, there will be unexpected and unplanned events. But we can reduce the impact when we plan ahead as much as we can.

Make This a Team Event!
Grab your Advanced Dental Block Scheduling Guide and grab your team! This is a fabulous team building exercise. And everyone on the team provides valuable insight and information.
Because one of the important ingredients of your schedule templates include time considerations. How much doctor and assistant time does each procedure require. And how do we strategically build around our major blocks well?
Dental Block Scheduling Templates Promote Practice Growth
There is a balance in our schedule templates. We must be realistic and also stretch ourselves just a bit. What do we want to see and what can we actually do? There is an art and a science to this. And it’s so worth every effort.
As this process not only grows the practice financially, but also promotes team work and unity. And allows the team to feel a sense of ownership. With a stronger understanding and commitment to the schedule and the plan.
Complete Your Templates by Month End
Begin this process early in the month of September. And plan to complete it by the end of September. It’s a powerful goal. One that sets the stage for success in the new year.
