Meeting Monthly Production Goals
Meeting monthly production goals requires some strategy! And the majority of our production generates from our restorative schedules. Therefore, it makes sense to focus here first. Here are the steps to help you begin:
Identify Your Specific Production Goal: What’s the number you need from your restorative schedule.
Create Your Customized Schedule Template: This allows the entire team to schedule and to color inside the lines.
Track Treatment Presented vs Treatment Scheduled: Know where there might be a disconnect and where more training is necessary.
Schedule Using Power Words: Especially surrounding reschedule policies and confirmation needs.
Confirm Restorative Appointments Personally: Technology is powerful but we need man power here.
Meeting Monthly Production Goals: Know Your Monthly Production Goal
The first step in reaching your goal is to know your goal. It may sound silly, but it all starts here. And we want to use the restorative schedule as the machine to reach that goal. Begin with the end in mind. And then set the plan on how to get there.
Know what your monthly goal is, and then each month convert that monthly goal into a daily goal. Then we create the restorative block schedule that will enable the team to reach the daily goal each day.
Some months may be shorter than others, and the daily goal must be adjusted accordingly. There may be months when there are vacations or unexpected closures. And when we have advance notice, we can adjust before and after. When we are surprised, then we must begin again. Our best frame of mind, is always to begin again!
Meeting Monthly Production Goals: Post Your Monthly Production Goal
Whatever computer software system you are using, I’m sure there is a place in your schedule or a goal setting feature that allows you to post your daily and monthly goals so that you can see them. What we measure and can see, we can create!
Set this up correctly and know where you are at when you schedule restorative appointments. Know the days where you are strong and the days where you are lacking.
Remember, we can only schedule each day what we are presenting and our treatment and financial presentations are key! Get the tools your team needs and shine!
Body language is more important than our words. Does that surprise you? Our eyes speak! And so does our tone. Better Dental Financial Presentations is an e-book the entire team will benefit from. It’s a great idea to add this e-book to your next team meeting agenda. If you have trouble getting patients to schedule, read this book. And focus on improving patient interactions and treatment presentation.
Use Block Scheduling / Perfect Day Scheduling
Keeping your daily production goals in mind, set up the blocks needed to meet your goals with high production blocks of time. Everything else added to your schedule will be gravy! Here is where we need to know just what our practice and patients need. Another great team builder is to create the restorative schedule and scheduling blocks together. Ownership creates greater compliance to a new way of doing things.
Build A Strong Call List
Good patient relationships are essential in building a strong call list. Know who will be able to move forward should a schedule change arise. Move like appointments forward. Use newly opened time wisely!
Communicate Reschedule Policy With Judgement & Finesse
Life can be so unpredictable. In the blink of an eye, everything can change. It is crucial to communicate the office rescheduling policy with judgement & finesse.
Listen to what your patient has to say & what they are not saying when an appointment needs to be rescheduled. And learn how to manage those patients with excellence!
What do we do with those frequent flyers and how can we make their crazy schedules work for us? Although we can’t control everything our dental patients do, we can certainly manage our reactions and response well.
Balance Is Key
Patient care is your focus in the dental office. In addition, there are overhead costs that must be paid.
Learning to balance patient needs and office needs is necessary for everyone’s well-being and happiness.
It feels so good to see it all come together and to see your monthly production numbers exceed your goals with ease! Yes, with ease! You can do it!
