Dental Restorative Schedule Training

Dental restorative schedule training is next on our list here.  As we continue to work together to create your Dental Administrative Operations Manual.   It’s important to include separate sections for each of our business systems.   And to train team members of each individual system.   Then, introduce weekly management systems for integration.

Let’s begin with the top three focal points.   However, I realize you may have a different hierarchy.   What’s most important to me may vary from what matters most to you.   And that’s okay.   I will share with you now what I recommend.   And encourage you to do what feels right for you.

Top Three Focus Points

  1. Stick to the schedule template
  2. Communicate reschedule policy when scheduling
  3. Move like appointments forward

Schedule Templates

Dental restorative schedules succeed when we stick to the plan.   Do you have team members that like to color outside the lines?  It’s a good idea to ask why.   Because we want to understand the reason behind that decision.   And then, back up and retrain a bit.  All team members must understand our why as well.   We design the template with the practice and patients in mind.   But it only works well if we use it well.

Need to design your block schedule template?   Then, let’s begin there.   Grab the team, grab my tools here, and design your day.  Remember, when we include the team, we create ownership.   And ownership is a fabulous way to gain compliance and grow success!

We want to include scheduling conversations.  And specifically our communication of reschedule policies.   Because our patients will need to reschedule  It’s best that we address this first every time we schedule an appointment.   We want to be more proactive and less reactive.  And then we will surely find less short notice reschedules.

However, we will see unexpected appointment openings.  But how we handle them determined the outcome.   That makes sense, right?  Look ahead at the next few days to see if there is a similar appointment we might move forward.   Do we have a short-call list to pull from?   And finally, communicate this open time to the team as well.  Especially same day openings.

Add more training materials to your manual as you can.   These three focus points are just the beginning.  And you have tons of resources here to customize and get creative with!
