Ideal Dental Office Day Creation
Ideal dental office day creation is yours. It’s not out of reach. In fact, quite the contrary. You get to choose your direction. And the outcome. It’s your life. It’s your day. And it’s those individual days that build your life.
Dentistry is a fabulous field to work in. There is no lack of need. As long as people exist, dentistry is a necessity. Most dental practices are closed holidays. There is no night shift to worry about. And we earn a reasonable wage.
So, What’s the Struggle?
Stress. Confusion. Chaos. Fatigue. Do any of these feel familiar. With no clear path on how to turn the ship around? Where is the calm sea? Or the harbor? Can we just get off the boat?
What does the ideal dental office day feel like to you? Stop for a moment and grab a piece of paper. And a pen. Take the time to do this little exercise. Now write down 3 things you need to see improve to enjoy your workday more. Just 3!
Ideal Dental Office Day Plan
So, what’s next? There is an awareness that somethings must change. And a desire exists to make it so. Now, we also have 3 items we know would create a better day for us. How do we make a plan?
1. Measure – Quantify
For us to know our progress – our goal must be measurable. So, determine how you intend to measure each of those 3 specific items on your list.
2. Set a Target Date
Let’s set an example of 30 days. A 30-day period for each of the individual items on your mind. So, that is a total of 90 days. Take one item, one goal, at a time. And build on it.
For Example:
Imagine we have these three dreams on our wish list. We know if we could accomplish these three things, we would have a much better day in the office!
- patient schedules that actually work well – fewer patients & more productivity – everyone is on time
- patients who schedule treatment presented, pay, and are happy to be in our office – they even show up for appointments
- no big outstanding collection problems and treatment provided is paid for timely
